Kenya Airways Managing Director Titus Naikuni has announced that he will retire at the end of next year after successfully steering the country’s national carrier-Kenya Airways-for nearly ten years. Naikuni was to leave at the end of this year but the Board of Directors of the airline prevailed upon him to stay on. Board Chairman Evans Mwaniki revealed Naikuni’s retirement at the airlines half year investor briefing held at the Intercontinental hotel earlier on Wednesday. NTV’s Aby Agina with the latest.

    Very wise of him to retire at this point. It’s said that after 8-10 years,
    a leader ceases to be a positive influence in his organization or even
    country (in the case of presidents). Anything longer than this tends to
    lead to stagnation or even regression.
